Here is the agenda for tomorrow night's regular school board meeting.
Also, the school board has released the names of the six finalists and three alternates for the position of superintendent. They are (in no particular order): Audie Brown, Travis Dempsey, Leann Ellis, Bobbie Gutierrez, Adan Estrada and Ken Lyon. The three alternates (in the event one of the six isn't available) are 1. James Sparks, 2. Amy Lane and 3. Jeff Gorum. Although I saw on Arlan Ponder's Facebook account that Amy Lane has asked that her name be withdrawn. (Actually, when I say this information has been "released" I mean that Arlan Ponder emailed the info...I don't know whether it is taped to the window of the school or anything like that.
The interviews will be at a public work session on April 7. If it is anything like the last work session, they will break into three different rooms so each candidate is essentially interviewed three times...once by the board and once by each community/teacher committee.

WOW!!!! Man did they ever set Amy Lane up for a public slap down! I mean cept if they told her she didn’t have a chance and she went for it anyway cause then it’s on her I guess but unless that happened this is HARSH HARSH HARSH. We had no idea when we moved up here that politcs in Cloudcroft could be so NASTY. This could be FUN! You (Margo?) got a post here about wondering what the criterium is for the trustees to use to say who got interviews and who didn’t. Guess we no now what it was. 1) They want Somebody just like Amy Lane 2) But that person has to NOT be Amy Lane. LOL! The goold old boys and one old lady on this council say that care so much about the school staff and the community and students and all of that hogwash. Make a big show of all kinds of comitees from all parts of the area and all parts of the school and ask teachers for lists of stuff they want in a boss and then don’t even interview an employee who not just has all that stuff in her experience but also has SHOWED everybody she can do it. Well it’s not surprise that politicos are big liars but it is kind of shocking what a mean bunch this one is besides. Somebody told me theysaw this lady Amy Lane at a track meet there kid was at and she was walking all over the place picking up the trash out there. at the football field. She didn’t even work here anymore. Worked at Alamogordo a tjthe time but she weas the one cleaninng up the trash at the Cloudcroft track meet. If these trustees will public b****slap somebody like her...Amazing! There’s an old saying that goes like “it’s not personal” or “it’s nothing personal” except this looks pretty much like it is personal.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think she did too deserve this Margo? Does anyone know? is there like public records or something where you can find out? (Don’t you just love anonymos posting? Rumor time! LOL!) I mean unless she knew she didn’t have a chance. Then I guess it’s her own fault for puttin herself out there. Who knows? Or maybe she did do something wrong. Just that I never heard it if she did.

Yes, its really sad that a person like Amy Lane isnt even considered by this board. I have one question, have any of these board members ever been in a hiring situation? Do they collectively have the credentials to even begin the process of hiring a new superintendent? I have been to several board meetings and am astonished by the show of idiocy and ignorance by the members of this board. Incompetence is putting it mildly.
