Here is the agenda for the meeting.
The podcast is available at http://cmsbears.podbean.com
The Superintendent's Handout.
The proposed calendar for next year.
There was also a calendar for May, but since there were so many changes to the written copy at the meeting, I'll just let you get the information as they robo call it.
As to the school calendar, while the board approved it, they also asked that it be returned to the committee to see if they can move Spring break to a week earlier, which would make it the same week as the surrounding High Schools.

what happened to the current SpEd Director and teacher? Why is SpEd always the one cut? This seems very wrong to me
ReplyDeleteI just know that Mr. Dempsey said at the meeting that the SPED Director duties would be taken over by Mr. Renteria and Ms. Morales. (I don't know if they are certified SPED or not). I haven't heard what happened to the current SPED director and teacher. Mr. Dempsey also made a comment about a math teacher at the middle school leaving, too, and that position would not be filled.
ReplyDeleteThey are not certified for the work and to not rehire a Math teacher either! Oh my goodness. I know money is tight but this is crazy. I assume the Special Ed teacher is the new one which means there is now nobody certified for gifted if I understand what I heard this fall correctly. He had a meeting that said we didn't have to have a gifted program and I think the director that was there last year disagreed and she got her information from the attorney or the state. I forget which one Mrs Davis was the one who told me. I think that was one reason she left- they were cutting corners she felt would put the school in legal difficulty. I could be wrong she never told me that herself but it was how I felt when I watched how she reacted sometimes even when she tried to hide it. The Math teacher is probably Mrs Cravens too bad but she was getting older so I am sure she really wanted to retire.
ReplyDeleteAs for the above comment on the gifted program I have a child in the program and it is still on going. Mrs. Davis's replacement is wonderful and a nice change. We travel daily to get our children to school here in Cloudcroft and couldn't be happier, so if the Administration can fill positions within the school and keep from having to make cuts like other schools in the area I support them completely. The above comment seems to have too many hear says that's how rumors get started. Any how Thank you Margo for your updates.
ReplyDeleteOn the above comment I didn't mean Mr's Davis's replacement I meant Mrs. Hannigans Replacement was a nice change. Mrs. Davis is a wonderful teacher, sorry for my mistake.
